How I work:
I work with any one, or several of these approaches
according to what would benefit each client.
Psychodynamic Counselling
This approach enables you to see how past events
might shape the way you respond to present difficulties.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy
Together we devise strategies that are special to
you in order to make the desired changes and to achieve goals.
Couples Counselling
Couples can meet on an equal footing in a neutral
space and use my support to resolve relationship difficulties.
Anger Management
Finding the underlying causes of destructive
behaviour and at the same time finding strategies to change it, can help you
achieve a better outcome in upsetting situations.
Stress Management
You can learn relaxation and breathing techniques,
which have been proved to calm stress and anxiety.
Tools for Self Awareness
Drawing, writing, visualisation, relaxation,
meditation
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques. (CBT)
These techniques aim to replace unhelpful thoughts
and behaviour patterns with more positive and rewarding ones
Transpersonal
Counselling
Includes the
spiritual dimension.
Body Oriented Psychotherapy
A physiological process for identifying and
releasing traumas.
I work face to face with individuals and couples on
a short, medium or long term basis. Short term can mean anything from six to
twelve sessions, long term may mean a year or two. How long therapy lasts
depends on the issues you wish to address and the way we decide to work and
this is regularly reviewed during our work together.
The first session is an opportunity to see what
would be most helpful for you. After this meeting we can decide on further
sessions if appropriate, or you may want to go away and think more about this
experience before making up your mind. |
